Welcome
Art and Hemophilia  -

HemophiliArt cannot conceive hemophilia without the contribution art provides since it allows for re-signification of the tragic sense of the disease. The diagnosis of hemophilia is perceived as such a traumatic impact by an individual that in most cases it produces emotional blocking and is perceived as a huge problem. An emotional blocking may silence a person’s self motivation, it may depict experience of value and limit freedom to think and act creatively. The art of solving problems consists of the ability to face them by means of new ways of approach that may activate other mechanisms of thought.

Art is a means to incentive one’s self expression and to facilitate the display of creative processes; therefore, through art direct contact with one’s own creativity is achieved. Creativity includes creative thought abilities and motivation. It is though creativity that motivation is revitalized, experience recovers its lost value and the processes of thought are enriched through fluency, flexibility, opening, originality, etc. Art draws a person away form what is disquieting, from horror, from what cannot be named: it drives one close to the pleasure of creation. Being creative implies setting in motion the artistic resources that every individual carries within themselves. That is why art possesses therapeutic effects which help improve the state of health. Re-creation, re-signification of the sense hemophilia entails for every individual is HemophiliArt’s challenge.
